The 5th annual Art of Hair invites you to come out and participate in a celebration of our natural beauty, by engaging in a day of presentations and workshops all on the subject of: healthy hair, beauty, body and spirit. With special giveaways, refreshments, various vendors, and music by the infamous DJ Polaris.

This annual collaborative hair event between The Fort Wayne Museum of Art and Green Hair Revolution, invites the community to immerse themselves in celebrating their natural beauty!

Mrs. Angelica Sweeting, mom, wife, founder/creator of Naturally Perfect Dolls, and 2017 Shark Tank success story will be our guest this year at the 5th annual Art of Hair.

Tickets: $15 per person day of event at door, prepay here!

Your ticket will also include admission to the museum’s current exhibition Celebrating an Era: The Giants of Jazz by Herman Leonard.

In 2012, a partnership between Green Hair Revolution and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art began. Their efforts inspired the first Art of Hair event in May 2013 upon the launch of the Museum’s debut exhibition of its collection of photographs by Michael July, an artist and author who set out to chronicle the “˜Fro and some of the country’s most fascinating natural hair proponents.

Celebrating an Era: The Giants of Jazz by Herman Leonard
November 11th 2017 – January 28th 2018

From the collection of the Kennedy Museum of Art, at the Ohio University, this exhibition of portraits of jazz legends by photographer Herman Leonard is a multi-sensory observation of the music, culture and mores of jazz society. Included in the exhibition are portraits of Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker and Frank Sinatra.
